The crazy guy with the parachute under his desk -The aftermath of 9/11


Is there such a thing as being too cautious? We’ve all seen the stories; we even know people
that pack away tons of can goods, maybe even barrels of water in bunkers and fortified under
ground basements and structures; just in case something happens. They go out to the Army supply
store, buy dried and dehydrated food, and store it in their emergency crib; just in case.  The
general public, myself included, laughed and made sport of them. That was before 9/11/00, the
day the towers came down and took the lives, hope and dreams of thousands of people along with
them. No one is laughing now, in the aftermath of all the horror that was, is, and threatens to
happen again. Now… is there such a thing as being over prepared? Too trained? People are buying
Gas and smoke masks, radiation detectors, Potassium Iodide pills and more in large quantities
from such places as www.safeamerica.com They sell all of the above and more, and I’m not here
to provide them with a sales pitch, I just think it’s good to have knowledge of where one might
get such things. They even have items like an affordable Bio-hazard suit and a Parachute for
leaping from skyscrapers. If a guy had one under his desk at work, do you think we’d be
laughing at him now? I question how successful the 911 hijackers would’ve been if they had
tried to take over a plane in China or Japan, with box cutters. A great number of the citizens
in those nations train in some form of martial arts and I’m just question whether such an
attack could’ve been successful with just box cutters against a good number of martial artists
fighting for their lives. That’s why we decided to focus on DEFENSE AGAINST A KNIFE ATTACK. If
an assailant, whether they be terrorist or mugger has a gun, it’s going to be a crap shoot
anyway, so I feel defense against the knife is the most likely real world experience most of us
will ever face; let’s be ready.
