| Michael Jackson – Forever the King of Pop 1958-2009 When the news of Michael Jackson’s death came over the wire, I knew the world would stop. Throngs of people gathered at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, where Michael first broke on the national scene with his brothers. A massive crowd assembled around the hospital where they had taken him, just to remember and to celebrate his life. Groups of people congregated all over the world to sing and bask in the joy Michael’s music spread over a lot of years. Even the unrest in Iran slowed for a while.
